PLANNING MEETING
OROVILLE CA – JANUARY 29, 2013 –The City of Oroville will host a public stakeholders and partners participation meeting on Thursday, January 31, 2013, seeking input about the proposed Oroville Cultural and Entertainment Complex Project. The first meeting will start at 10:00 A.M. and the second meeting will start at 2:00 P.M. Both meetings will be held at the Centennial Cultural Center which is located at 1931 Arlin Rhine Memorial Drive, Oroville.
In 2012 a planning contract was awarded to BMS Design Group funded by a Community Development Block Grant that had been awarded to the City of Oroville. The proposed Oroville Cultural and Entertainment Complex Project is bordered by the Feather River to the north, along the river embankment from Bedrock Park on the west, to the Veteran’s Memorial Park on the east, with a portion of the project reaching down to Montgomery Street on the south. The Plaza project will combine the natural resource and beauty of the Feather River, along with general retail and commercial entertainment, several museums, and the Greenline and Walking tours coming together as a cultural and event complex for various community activities, annual events such as Feather Fiesta Days, the Salmon Festival and the Christmas Light Parade.
